Ho, hum - you know those mornings when you wake up and think, "Today I'll channel Grace Jones". Or Annie Lennox. Or David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Sade or Madonna in her Holiday heyday perhaps? No, we don't either.

But entering the eighties bunfight backstage at Gaultier with classic beats of the decade blasting out, we began to wonder why on earth not.

Make up artist Stephane Marais was a whirl, whisking up look after look as brows were strengthened, eyelids washed with garish shades and lips pimped out in colours that would make your hair perm.

With 53 looks and multiple costume changes to plough through, a humdinger of a model cast saw Karlie Kloss, Liu Wen and Joan Smalls transform from one eighties character to the next thanks to a series of clever wig tricks.

Coloured by uber guru Josh Wood, wig after wig was then styled by Redken Creative Consultant, Guido who added lashings of a little thing called hairspray. Of course.
