Fashion Week numero four and were beginning to see just which trends are going to make the grade for SS13. Looking like a dead cert is the liquid eye. Having adopted distinctly aquatic hues at Derek Lam in New York, eyes went for a shimmering white dip at Ermanno Scervino in Milan and today had a bit of a bathe at Issey Miyake in Paris.
Against a backdrop of supernatural skin, Lucia Pieroni had visions of bird feathers in water. Both mascara and lip colour were made redundant as Pieroni combined MAC Platinum Pigment with PRO Water Base Mixing Medium for a thick metallic paint-like texture that was slicked onto lids following the natural curve of the eye.
Then it was lip gloss, lip gloss and well a bit more lip gloss as Pieronis team patted it all down the centre of the face and even onto the chest. A heavy misting of MAC Fix+ spray all over the face liquefied the look so Miyakes maidens appeared to have just emerged from the depths deep blue sea.
