The backstage area at is a closely guarded secret - no press allowed. Instead I had to witness the make-up from my desk in rainy London. It was a look that certainly brightened my afternoon.

The make-up, on the whole, was minimal - no colour on the cheeks or obvious lipstick in sight, but it was the eyes that had it. 'The make-up was extraordinary' our Editor in Chief Lorraine Candy told us straight after the show.

Models' eyes were washed in bold hues of purple, blue or aqua. Hundreds of tiny jewels were then painstakingly applied to each eyelid. Snaking around the inner corner of eyes, across the lash line then bursting out towards temples. Stunningly beautiful, it's a look you could happily spend hours recreating at home...

To get the look use Dior's remarkable 5 Couleurs Palettes in either Petal Shine or Navy Design, £40. Using the most vivid shade over the eyelids.

You can buy flat-backed crystals from most bead and haberdashery stores, I tend to buy mine for nail art from Creative Beadcraft

Using an orange stick with a little blue tack on the end, pick up the flat-backed crystals. Take a little Duo Adhesive, £10, and apply to the back of the crystal before fixing the gems to your eyelids, making sure not to get any in your eye!

And there you have it. Will you give this look a try?
