Squeals of delight greeted us as we entered Oscar de la Renta's 25th floor office on a sun soaked afternoon in New York.

An elated Karlie Kloss jumped to her feet to peck Oscar on each cheek as the blushing designer produced a picture of her wearing one his creations that he'd had framed to hang on the wall of his studio.

Meanwhile multiple modern Holly Golightlies were whipped into shape by Orlando Pita. Having spent the eve of the show driving around Manhattan on a last minute wig dash, he created a heavily teased twist on the classic pleat - with strips of pink, turquoise or yellow wound into the style.

Complementing the look, Gucci Westman cooked up a triple layered lip, applying Revlon's ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in Muse and Preview before patting the raspberry-toned Just Bitten pentil in Crave over the top for a smudgy, stained effect.

"It's all about the fingers," said Westman, using her digits to add primer to naked eyelids and highlight the upper cheekbones in a look that was "cool, modern and luminously fresh".

By the time we left, we couldn't decide what we loved more: The Oscar de la Renta Spring Summer 13 look - or the man himself (see his 3D sketch below).
