Melissa Tammerijn eased into the day with the help of her favourite Avene skin care, an orange and pineapple juice from her local deli and a slather of cream cheese on a typical Manhattan bagel.

With Olivia de Havilland in the 1935 movie of Midsummer Night's Dream setting the tone for the look, Gray mimicked the soft, floating chiffons and diaphanous fabrics of the main collection in the texture of the hair. "Imagine a woodland nymph running through a glade with whisps of fluffy angel hair drifting about her face," he said.

Prepping hair with Moroccanoil Volumising Mousse to create a light, airy feel, he crimped the underneath to add a candyfloss-like finish. Then came the drape. Sweeping the hair across the forehead in deep side parting, he made a baggy, hanging loop at the side of the head, securing it in place with hand crafted flower pins.

His top tip for doing the same? Heat the end of the pin in the flame of a lighter for a few seconds before pushing it through a plastic flower and you get an accessorising bloom that's not going to budge.
