Whether it be from the front row, backstage or on ELLEuk.com, keeping up with London Fashion Week can really take it out of you. During a typical day during LFW I spend anywhere around 14 hours on my feet squished backstage and running (literally!) to and from shows. Food barely gets a look in - instead it’s copious amounts of coffee and the odd backstage biscuit that see’s me through my day. I’m assaulted by air-con, hairdryers, a total lack of sleep and whatever the British weather decides to through at me. This not-so-fantastic combination usually spells one thing when it comes to me: dry, dull skin and a cluster of breakouts around my chin.

This LFW I’m getting prepared and meeting my skin nemesis head-on with a targeted facial which should help my skin retain it’s luminosity and prevent it from reacting so badly to the shows.

Treatment Aveda Enbrightenment Skin Brightening Facial [£89 for 60 minutes] uses plant technology and Enbrightenment products to improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation, skin clarity and skin tone.

Pros The very thought of LFW has left me exhausted so it’s near-on impossible not to start nodding off during the treatment (it’s that relaxing). My skin is thoroughly cleansed and steamed to lift out any debris lurking in my pores before its exfoliated and massaged with an intensive masque. While the Enbrightenment products work their magic with vitamin C, mulberry root and grape extracts my scalp and shoulders are worked free of any tension with a firm massage. The Enbrightenment Brightening Correcting Serum and Lotion rounded everything off.

Cons In all honesty I can’t imagine anyone not liking this facial. If you have a tendency to get a little hot and bothered then the steam is probably not for you but your therapist would be happy to leave it out.

Verdict My skin really does appear a lot smoother (that will be the steaming) and I look more awake (cliché I know, but I do!). A small blemish that has been threatening to make an appearance on my chin has retreated in submission. My skin is ready for whatever LFW can through at it!
