How many coats of mascara do your lashes usually wear? One, two? Maybe three - if they're really into layering. Backstage at , they donned a mighty 10 coats of the thick black stuff.

NARS make up artist, Francelle Daly lured hungry models away from the best buffet we've seen all week, (think Mediterranean vegetable wraps and three-tier cake stands groaning with sugary goodies) to apply two coats of the Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara. Applying a hefty amount of pressure to lash curlers, she clamped, held - and held a bit longer. Eight coats of mascara later and even super fine, size zero lashes were fat and chunky.

"This is a sophisticated take on a modern grungy girl," said Daly.

Keeping skin pale with a texture that was "not matte, not dewy - but satin" Daly dusted the pale pink shade from NARS' new SS13 Bouthan Eye Duo onto lids, (arriving in UK stores from February) added black kohl in the waterline and brushed up brows with a clear gel.

Playing on texture, she dusted loose powder over a new honey-toned Biscayne Park Satin Lip Pencil (as before) to matte it down.

A final pop of Laguna blush on the apples of cheeks and bridge of the nose and we almost believed we were moshing along with Daly's vision of "a young Courtney Love playing outside with her rock band".
