Best Baftas Beauty Looks 2013

Classic Make-up Vs Effortless Looks

The night’s cold, wet weather may have been the deciding factor but the hair and make-up looks at the Baftas tonight were, on the whole, a simple affair.

The A-list chose from an array of classic red carpet staple looks like red lips, loaded lashes with liquid liner and softly-styled down and up-dos. Others kept things simple with barely-there make-up and hair styling.

In the classic camp, red lips came from Marion Cotillard (who kepts her matte and vivid) and Jessica Chastain who went for glorious retro-inspired looks, Gemma Chan and Thandie Newton – who chose a berry red.

Smoky eyes and heavy liner came in all shapes and sizes from actress-of-the-moment Jennifer Lawrence, Sarah Jessica Parker, Anne Hathaway and Laura Bailey. Anne Hathaway ignored the red or nude lipstcik memo and chose a pink shade instead - the hottest shade for spring

There were two micro hair trends: Jennifer Lawrence and newcomer Alicia Vikander went for dual texture hair slicked back off the face at the roots and left dry and loose at the ends. This looks is big news for summer with Victoria Beckham (plus many more) championing the hairstyle at the spring/summer 2013 shows.

Despite side partings being a big trend for the new season, centre-parted up-dos came from Jennifer Garner and Annabelle Wallis. While Sarah Jessica Parker wore her hair left down, super sleek and centre parted.

Jennifer Garner, Hayley Attwell, Amy Adams and Elizabeth Olsen chose muted hues of make-up for effortless undone looks.
