It may have been 25 degrees and a perfect sunny day outside in Manhattan, but after days of super subtle sculpting, minimal eyes and barely-there lips, NYFW was threatening to become a bit of a wash out in terms of the kind of colour we expect from a spring/summer season.Yet the hyper natural brigade hadn't reckoned with Tom Pecheux, who took the signature smoky black eye and injected some much needed heat into the look with a neon pink liner.

First he used black eye shadow to define the lower lash line and add depth to the socket in a sexy, smudgy, blown-out shape. So far, so standard. Then came the twist: Dipping a Q-tip in make up remover, he swiped it along the base of the upper lashes to leave a product-free space - like the negatives from a camera roll. He then used an ultra fine eyeliner brush to fill in the gap with the day glow pink shade from a still top secret new SS13 MAC lip palette.Just one coat of mascara top and bottom was enough to add an accent to lashes. With the blockade on brights broken, it seems a slick of neon is all it takes to let colour do the SS13 talking.
