Fresh As A Daisy At Victoria Beckham

Minimal is the new maximal

By Bella Blissett

As the sun shone brightly on Sunday morning in Manhattan, the fash pack stirred and headed for the steps of the New York Public Library, agog to see what La Beckham would have in store for us for SS13. Looking tanned, toned and cool as a cucumber backstage, VB chatted to Guido who, after only 5 hours sleep, was whipping out his Touche Eclat and eye drops.

Blow drying in a strict centre part with Redken's Guts 10 using the super powerful Babyliss Volari V1, he left the ends to dry to encourage the natural movement of the hair.

"I wanted the hair to look nonchalant but still have a richness to reflect Victoria's own vibe," he said.

To create a dual texture, (already shaping up as an early SS13 trend) he glossed the top of the head with Redken Shine Flash 02 then used Powder Refresh 01 dry shampoo and the flick of a curling tong to add a fluffy effortlessness to the ends at the back.

Over on planet Maybelline, Diane Kendel responded to Victoria's request for fresh, sculpted make-up by rejecting the strong brow and orange lip of early tests and instead creating an easy, breezy two-tone cheek.

Sweeping Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush low on the cheek and a pop of the Rose Petal shade onto the apples, she added a hint of depth to the upper eyelids with a coffee brown shadow. Skipping mascara, she applied a pin-thin line of Eye Studio Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner in Black to the base of the upper lashes and patted Dream Lumi Concealer in Radiant on the lips to lift the final lid on fresh-faced flawlessness.
