I’m still recovering from a rather eventful weekend in Venice. I was there for the international launch of the new Gucci Premiere fragrance, which is being fronted by the breathtakingly gorgeous Blake Lively.

If you haven’t seen the TV ad campaign for the fragrance I insist that you YouTube it now. It’s beautifully shot by Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn on location at LA’s glamorous Goldstein Residence.

Now I don’t want to make you too jealous but I can confirm that I had dinner with Blake and Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini and perhaps half way through the evening we may have been joined by Blake’s BF Ryan Reynolds. Swoon.

I caught up with Blake the following morning (still in a state of shock from seeing Ryan the night before) to talk to her about the fragrance. The interview will appear in the January issue of ELLE so I won’t give too much away now.

One thing I can share with you though is Blake’s great tip for achieving her effortlessly chic, beachy waves. Blake told me that she likes to work a good hair mask (Kérastase and Wella are her favourites) through her hair when it’s damp. She then piles it on top of her head and into a bun and allows it to try. When she takes it down it falls into a loose wave and the mask helps the hair keep its kink. And voila!
