Aerin Lauder is just two years younger than Estee was when she launched the now iconic Estee Lauder cosmetics brand, which puts Aerin in good stead to slowly grow a global empire. Unlike Estee, Aerin has ambitions beyond the realms of beauty (she's just received a license for shoes, along with homeware).

But today sees the launch of her Essentials beauty range, a neat line of six Fresh Skin Compact Foundations, two Illuminating Powders, one Multi Colour for lips and cheeks, a Rose lip conditioner and a hand and body cream, along with a brush set and make-up bag in a matching dusky rose print.

Aerin apparently takes just five minutes to do her make-up, she's a working mum, so these products are all easy to use and multi-purpose. The foundation doubles as a concealer, the multi-color can be used on eyes too.

Four times a year Aerin will launch a limited edition colour collection. For Fall she has created two palettes - comprised of two eye colours, a multi colour and a blush - one called Weekday and another named Weekend, each has a matching lipgloss and lipstick you can snap up.

Chic, beautiful and such well thought out products come from a woman who has beauty in her blood. You can delve into her world at aerin.com where she has written a Lessons from Estee post ('Whatever you do, do it well with dedication and passion,' her grandmother once said) but it's Aerin's guides for the home like Displaying Children's Art and Setting the Table that truly show off her impeccable taste and hint at just what we can expect from her lifestyle brand in the future.
