Move over crackle top coat and magnetic polish, there's a new high-tech lacquer in town.

US brand Colour Club is set to launch a new line of polishes next month called Ruby Wing. What sets these polishes apart is that they change colour in the sun. Clever, huh? Now I don't know all the science behind it but I do know they are formulated using a 'photochromic' technology that aids the colour change. It's kind of like those T-shirts that used to change colour when you were hot and sweaty. Thankfully these polishes require sun not sweat to see the effects.

According to Fashionista.com the colour change happens quickly when you go from inside to outside. I have no idea whether these polishes will be available in the UK but it's likely that even if Ruby Wing doesn't make it here, another brand will be hot on its heels. I have my fingers crossed.
