Last night Alexa Chung, dressed in , was awarded Style Icon at The British Fashion Awards, for the third year in a row. We caught up with her make-up artist Florrie White to share the secrets behind her beauty look last night.

'Alexa requested a dark gothic eye,' White told ELLE, 'I translated that request into a softer version of a lined and smokey eye'.
White prepped Chung's skin with Decleor Life Radiance Cream, £46, before applying Givenchy Acti-Mine Makeup Base in Acti Mango, £25, down her nose, then from her nose to her cheek bones and up to her temples to brighten her complexion.

'I evened out her complexion with Chanel Perfection Lumiere Fluide Foundation, £36, before covering any shadow under her eyes with Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener, £23.50.'

For the focus of the look, those soft gothic eye 'I applied Stila Smudge Pot in Kitten, £13, in the inner corner of her eyes blending up over her eyelid and down to join to her lower lashes. I then drew a line all over the length of her top lashes with Elizabeth Arden Smoky Eyes Eye Powder pencil in Smoky Black, £13.50 and also right into the lower lashline.

'I wanted quite a sharp line in the lashes, making sure I kept the water line clean. I then blended and softened the line down to the end of her lower lashes.'

White then swept Chantecaille eyeshadow in Meteorite, £23, from the middle of her eyelid, from the lashline up to the socket and then blended the product out so it was very subtly winged.

Chung curled her own eyelashes then White applied a few coats of Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara, £21, 'I really concentrated on the the lower lashes to make them a feature, slightly doll like in fact making it the ideal mascara for the job!'

White ramped up the luminosity created by the Givenchy Acti-mime by applying Smashbox Halo Highlighting Wand, £25 (an ELLE Beauty Team favourite) over the temples and cheek bones and then gave Alexa a soft glow with Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Calypso Coral 2, £18, on the apples of her cheeks brushing it out up to the temples.

'We chose a soft peachy lipstick' White told ELLE, 'Ravishing by MAC, £14, then set the look with a dusting of Sisley Phyto Poudre Compacte Matte powder, £58.'

And we thing Alexa looked ravishing indeed.
