As a male intern on the Elle beauty desk, when it comes to advising you on what is best to buy your father this Sunday, I’m pretty much the go to guy here. So here is my list of products I’d buy for dad this year. Browse and enjoy!

Hugo Boss Sport, 50ml £39

This aftershave sharpens the senses with its citrus notes of grapefruit, yuzu zest and pink peppercorn. Excellent for the kind of dad who takes sport as seriously as he takes himself.

Dior Homme Sport, £44 for 50ml

With Ginger and Sicilian citron this aftershave has a vintage feel to it. Its woody base includes notes of Virginian cedar wood. Jude Law wears it, and if it’s good enough for Jude it’s good enough for dad.

Kérastase Homme Anti Hair Loss Roller, £25.90

Joni Mitchell once sang, “You don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone” - sadly the same can be said for the male hairline. The Kérastase Homme Anti Hair Loss Roller is simple to use (just roll it over your scalp once a day to towel-dried hair) and has vitamins that encourage hair growth. Result.

LAB Series BB Tinted Moisturiser SPF35, £32

Our forward thinking friends in the Far East have been using BB Creams for years and now we’re getting in on the act as well. This one (designed specifically for men) contains ingredients to help prevent wrinkles and repair the skin’s protective barrier.

Pure Badger Hair Shaving Brush and Razor, by Acqua Di Parma, £350

This shaving set from Acqua Di Parma is the créme della créme of mens shaving essentials. Trust me, I’ve saved the best for last. The Pure Badger Hair Shaving Brush has top quality bristles, tightly secured by the wengé wood and fine Italian made handle. The Razor embodies exacly the same qualities, combining erganomic design with excuisitly rustic aesthetics. The head can be replaced by Gillette Mach 3 razor blades once worn down. This is a very luxurious piece and is perfect for celebrating dad.
