First look: Karlie Kloss’s new cut

The model goes for a bob

Karlie Kloss stands out in a crowd. Six feet tall, stunning and with a riveting runway walk, she’s not the kind of person who can pass by unnoticed.

That’s even true in a crowd of fellow models, as we learned backstage before the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show this afternoon. While the glamazons around her had their long hair curled, backcombed and teased to va-va-voom heights, all eyes were focussed on Kloss’s dramatic new crop, complete with a modish fringe.

‘I just cut it on Monday, for a big shoot,’ she told us. ‘I’m very excited—I love it! I feel like a woman’s confidence is in her hair, and for the longest time I just had really damaged, broken hair. This feels like a fresh start. It’s really empowering.’

Kloss said she had been ‘getting bored’ with her longer hair before the shoot, so when the stylist proposed a bob, she was all in. But does she like the style enough to stick with it?

‘I think I’ll keep it up. Well—we’ll see. I’ve only had it for a couple of days. Maybe I’ll get really annoyed by these bangs, but so far it’s been really fun. I feel like I’m taking on a whole new personality because of my hair.’

And off she went to receive some serious hair extensions…
