When it comes to fragrance I have a core group of favourites and it's not often one gets added to the mix - I know what I like, and most importantly, what I don't. Recently though a new bottle has found its way into the inner circle - Jo Malone London's delicious Blackberry and Bay. The scent is a vibrant combination of juicy blackberry and earthy bay, but what I love best is that the sweetness of the fruit is brilliantly tempered by the leafy greeness of the bay - I can't bear putting anything too saccharine and sugary sweet on my skin. Like all the previous JML fragrances before it, the genius of this perfume is how evocative it manages to be - one spritz and I'm transported back to blackberry picking as a child and long lazy, hazy summer evenings. It's not out until September but put it on your must-have list now - it really is the best bits of an English summer, bottled.
