I'm constantly asked for my ultimate summer beauty tips. It seems that our readers think in seasons (makes sense really especially considering our love of fashion). And really, the truth is that this makes complete and utter sense when it comes to our skin.

I'm not going to wax lyrical now about the importance of sunscreen and protecting your skin from UV rays – you only need to buy this month's issue to get the full low down on this from Beauty Writer Suzanne Scott's brilliant Truth about Sun Protection feature. But I do want to have a little word with you – yes you, about the importance of hydration.

I don't know about you, but when the sun finally comes out, my skin gets a battering. I'm a summer person, and if I'm presented with the opportunity of feeling the warmth of the sun on my face I'm going to accept. But its dehydration, among the hazards of UV that are your next enemy to contend with. While I love a great facial, the idea of having something that is going to treat my skin, hydrate and also leave me looking prettier instantly is appealing. The best facials I've had have still left me red faced and blotchy as I've emerged bleary eyed from the cave of the therapist's room. But I've found the perfect solution in the "Splash Treatment" from Karidis.

The treatment involves a super hydrating facial that uses a penlike gadget that is also a mini vacuum which is run across your skin, sucking up all those clogging dead skin cells and impurities from the pores on your face, while plumping it with hydrating hyaluronic acid. So your skin isn't only cleared of all those nasty bits of sweat, sunscreen etc. My skin felt so soft and plump afterwards. This is all toped off with semi permanent lash extensions. I had just half a set and as I came out of the spa my husband commented on how pretty I looked. Usually, post treatment I get a "What's wrong with your face?"

The "Splash" treatment costs from £199 for a HydraFacial and half set of Lash Perfect lashes. The treatment will take approximately 2 hours including the initial consultation.

Karidis non-surgical is based at London Syon Park.
