Drink up!

My attempt to start drinking more water

By Amy Lawrenson

Last week we shared our beauty confessions the parts of our beauty routine that we just ignore. Well, truth be told along with not moisturising my body on the outside, I don't exactly moisturise it on the inside either. You're more likely to see me swigging at coffee than water. It's just so dull and laborious. Which is why I was tempted when I received a press release from Willow Water inviting me to take up its 6 week challenge. All I have to do is drink a 1.5 litre bottle of Willow Water everyday. I now have my whole six week supply right next to my desk, so there are no excuses.

Now I know that drinking lots of water is not going to miraculously improve the less-than-perfect complexion I've had of late; I've always been sceptical as to whether water really makes a difference to the skin's surface. But an independent study found 70% of women who have already fulfilled the Willow Water challenge noticed their skin condition improved so you never know. What I am hopeful for is that by quenching my thirst I'll be less inclined to snack; apparently being thristy can be confused as being hungry in our brains. So I'm feeling optimistic for a slightly smaller number on the scales at the end of the challenge. Here's hoping.

I'll keep you posted on my challenge and in the meantime see what the ELLE team's beauty confessions are here (we're not perfect after all)...
