Is anyone else feeling a little disheartened by the gloomy weather we've been having of late? I say we ignore it and get bronzing anyway, well it is officially spring after all!

While looking for some beauty inspiration I stumbled across this picture of Alexa Chung on the evening she hosted the this year’s ELLE Style Awards. Her look is subtly sunkissed, which was perfectly suited for a cold February evening and is quite fitting for right now as well.

Make-up artist Florrie White worked with Alexa Chung on the evening to give her that effortlessly cool make-up look she rocks so well. For the ELLE Style Awards Florrie evened out Alexa’s complexion with Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, £31, and concealed where necessary.

She then used Blush Horizon de Chanel, £46, (particularly the peachy section of the compact), to warm up her complexion, sweeping the powder over her cheeks, nose, up over her temples and into her hairline. If you want just a hint more bronze layer Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universel Bronzing makeup, £31, a creamy gel bronzer, under or over your foundation before using the peach blush.

On her lids Florrie used a sandy-hued eyeshadow, then smudged Chanel Soft Touch eyeshadow in Vert Khaki 88, £21 into her outer lower lashes. Alexa is rarely seen without a 60s twist to her look so Florrie finished with a slick of black liner, clumpy lashes and a nude lipstick.

We love.
