EXCLUSIVE: Jessie J’s Hair How-to

ELLE gets a sneak preview of upcoming cover star Jessie J's primetime hairstyle.

Jessie J makes an appearance on the sofa of Alan Carr Chatty Man on Channel 4 tonight. We can't tell you what our November issue cover girl will say, but we can tell you that her hair looks great. We found out how it was done, so you can do it too.

The look was pretty, glossy waves – her hairdresser Lyndell Mansfield told ELLE exclusively last week that, ‘We’ll probably do kind of girly hair for a while.' Hardly surprising: next March the singer will be shaving her hair off for Comic Relief, so she's making the most of her long hair in the meantime.
With Mansfield tied up with fashion weeks on Wednesday, when the show was filmed, Alisha Dobson from hair salon Bleach London, who worked with Jessie during her stint on The Voice, stepped in to style Jessie’s hair for the show. Here's the step-by-step…
Start by blow-drying your hair using Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray to give the hair both shine and fullness.
Alisha then added hair extensions for extra length. This is optional but if you do want to give it a go ELLE rates the clip-in extensions from Hair Rehab London.
Take four large sections per side and using Bumble and Bumble Does It All Styling Spray, mist each section before tonging. Wrap the hair around the tong away from the face.
Once all your hair is curled use your fingers to break up the hair into waves and finish with Bumble and Bumble Spray De Mode to hold the hairstyle and secure any flyaways.

‘Jessie has super-glossy hair,’ Alisha told us, ‘but if you don't, you can add some Bumble and Bumble Shine On Finishing Spray to finish.'
