The vision in day-glo that is Nicki Minaj added a new string to her celebrity bow this week when she launched her own perfume, Pink Friday, to a rapturous reception from her fans at Macy’s in New York.

She looked colourful (of course) in Armani: a pink jacket over a multi-coloured bralet, a pink and black latex hat and blue and white striped pants, with Guiseppe Zanotti royal blue suede platform boots. The company behind the fragrance, Elizabeth Arden, are anticipating a massive success, according to WWD. The money-spinning recent launches to beat are Taylor Swift and young Justin Bieber.

The biggest selling celebrity fragrance ever is Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds; indeed the late star can also be credited with inventing the concept of celebrity-endorsed scent.
