While the star has dabbled with highlights in the past this is the lightest she has has gone with her hair, and we have to say it really suits her. Who would have thought it?

Of her new hair Natalie Portman says, 'My mom says I’m like a different person. I did it just a couple of days ago.'

Portman enlisted the expertise of celebrity colourist Tracey Cunningham, Redken’s Creative Consultant co-founder of Beverly Hills salon Byron & Tracey and colourist to stars such as Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Richie to name a few.

'Natalie makes a beautiful blonde!' Cunningham says Portman's new blonde hair which she achieved using Redken’s Blonde Dimensions. 'She needed to make the change for an upcoming movie role, so we we achieved a gorgeous, multi-dimensional golden honey blonde.'

Portman debuted her new hair colour at a launch for her husband Benjamin Millepied’s LA Dance Project at The Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall. While it sounds like a new Strictly Come Dancing (or Dancing with the Stars if you're reading this from across the pond), it's actually a more cultured approach to dance. The art collective’s goal is to create new work and revive seminal collaborations from the past to be held in traditional theatres and as well as performances in less-traditional spaces.
