If you're anything like us, while we coo and ooh and aah over lipsticks, they can sometimes feel a little, well, daunting. Yes, we love love love the idea of wearing an opaque slick of colour a la Gwen Stefani but sometimes we long for something a little more low-maintenance too. Thank goodness then for these little beauties from Revlon which are rather tantalisingly called Colorburst Lip Butters and come in a beautifully bright array of good-enough-to-eat shades. Created and named by Revlon's Global Artistic Director Gucci Westman, the formula contains an ultra-hydrating cocktail of mango, shea and coconut butters which means not only do lips get a burst of fruity colour, they stay nourished and moisturised as if you'd just slicked on a balm. Best of all the colour comes out in a pretty wash that can be worn in one sheer layer or built up for a little more pigment (our favourite shades include Cupcake, Creme Brulee and Tutti Frutti). However you wear them there's no mirror, lip brush or pencil required - now that's our kind of lipstick.

Revlon's Colorburst Lip butters are out 19th March at Boots and Superdrug nationwide 2012, £7.99 each
