I wasn't prepared for the spectacle that was McQ. This was the first time that the McQueen diffusion line has ever shown at fashion month and it was fitting that its debut should be in London - after all McQueen was a Londoner.
MAC make-up artist Diane Kendall looked to Edward Scissorhands and The Corpse Bride whilst designing the look for the show to create a haunting, identical look on each girl so that they all looked indistinguishable. Skin had full coverage foundation with a waxy, mannequin finish. Eyes were shaded in the inner corner with a triangular extension outwards in a combination of MAC Lip Pencil in Nightmoth, Eye Shadow in Embark and Sculpting Cream in Richly Honed.Sculptin Cream in Coffee Walnut was blended below the cheekbones for some contouring. We loved the lip... dark berry on the inner rim faded out to the lip line - Kendall created this by brushing the lip colour, Sin, just inside the mouth with a small brush.

Redken's Guido gets the star for 'most ambitious hair style of the season' with this amazing feat. Guido wanted to design something that would hold it's own against the militaru designs in the collection and serve as the finishing touch to the entire look. With a little bit of Marilyn Manson in mind, Guido and his team constructed huge hair doughnuts. Guido began by dividing the hair into three pony's on the top of the head before pulling the hair through the middle of the doughnut and fitting it snugly on the head. All the hair was then wrapped around the sponge and pinned underneath. It didn't look very comfortable and there was more than one model who could be seen poking a pen under the ring for an itch but the affect was more than worth it.

While stricty speaking this has nothing to do with beauty, we had to point out these boots. They are very impressive.

And look who we spotted backstage who would later be appearing in the show, Kristen McMenamy.
