Recently I've taken up Body Balance at my local gym. It's not necessarily the current 'it' class out there but I'm really enjoying it and most importantly, it's making a difference to my figure. The class is a blend of Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi and we do sun salutations, lots of squats and stretching into positions. At first they seemed impossible to master, but now I'm getting into it more and each stance is flowing seamlessly from one to the other.

The idea of Body Balance is to improve flexibility, build strength and calm the mind. I'm definitely more flexible after five or so classes, my arms, legs and stomach are more toned and I definitely feel calmer at work. Each class lasts 55 minutes and you burn around 390 calories per class. Mix this with some cardio (I do a boxing circuit class and running) and you'll be spring-wardrobe ready in no time.
