If the rain has ruined your hair, then give this intricate-looking hairstyle a try (it's actually deceptively easy). It was created for the s/s 12 Thierry Colson show at Paris Fashion Week by hairstylist Laurent Philippon.
First of all if you’re trying to rectify rain-soaked hair at work, stick your head under the nearest hand dryer or if you're super organised use the travel hairdryer that you keep in your desk drawer (I made that scenario up, but I'd love to hear if anyone actually has one!)
If however you’re creating this hairstyle for a big night out and you have bags of time, Laurent recommends you prep your hair with Bb Prep, £15, and Styling Lotion, £19.50, and then blow dry your hair with a bristle brush for a smooth soft texture.
Next, create a side parting then brush your hair back. On one side, tuck the hair behind the ear and on the other leave the hair low enough to slightly cover the eye.
Now, gather your hair at the back towards the nape of your neck and create a loose plait. Secure with an elastic band and then tuck under before securing with pins on the underside.
Complete the look with Bumble and bumble Does it All Styling Spray, £21, for a pretty sheen and light hold.
And there you have it, a quick way to turn rain-soaked tresses into a beautiful up-do. Oh, and make sure you get yourself an umbrella for next time.
