We've gone Gaga at ELLE HQ (well, she is our cover star) and right now I want to recreate a dramatic side pony just like hers for the festive party season. So, I called on her hairstylist, Sam McKnight, to talk us through it...
'To create a dramatic long side ponytail you need to have a lot of hair, or you can use hairpieces to get the look. First apply a strong-hold mousse like the new Pantene Volume and Body Strong Hold, £2.99, to freshly washed and conditioned hair and blow dry straight. Gather all your hair up and to the side of your head above the ear and secure with a strong snag free elastic or use a hooked elastic. Next, attach your faux pony if you're using one. If not simply separate your hair into two sections, one smaller than the other, and twist the smaller section around the base of your ponytail (this will hide the join whether you are using a faux pony or not) and secure with grips. Use a straightening iron on the hair in the ponytail to get it super sleek.'
Et voila: hair you can go Gaga over.
