While Emma Watson (who plays Marilyn Monroe's dressmaker in the new film, My Week with Marilyn) has said she can relate to Marilyn Monroe's life, sadly mine couldn't be more different. Case in point: I wear mismatched pyjamas to bed, Marilyn Monroe slept in Chanel No.5. Or so everyone thought. She may have worn Chanel No.5 at home in Los Angeles, but while she was in England she preferred Yardley English Lavender.

A scene from the real-life story shows a 1956 press conference with the actress in the Savoy Hotel, a reporter cheekily asks whether it's 'true that you wear nothing in bed but perfume?' To which the screen siren replies, 'As I am in England let’s say I sleep in nothing but Yardley’s Lavender.' A sensible choice since Lavender is know to aid sleep, relieve stress and rebalance the body and soul.
