Here's the thing, I'm not a very calm person - in fact, some might even say I'm prone to the occasional wave of anxiety. Worrying runs in the Smith family, paternal and maternal genes. So I'm thanking the stars (and Geraldine Howard) for Aromatherapy Associates' new standalone store in London's Knightsbridge.
I nipped in this week, with frayed nerves for a City Stress Buster treatment. The boutique is a beautiful haven aromatherapy cloud as you wander past the window display created by teeny tiny baby bottles of AA oils.
After a lengthy consultation with Michelle, she took me into the treatment and asked me to allow my body to choose the oil that it was drawn to naturally. My body was calling for Support Equilibrium. I lay face down as she ironed out all the knots in my back, and soothed the angry stress induced tenderness on my scalp.
Afterwards, I woke up slowly after my gentle slumber and stumbled outside into the light waiting area where I was greeted with my prescription of oils, instructions of when and how to use them and some little nibbles to keep me energized.
If you can find the time, I can't recommend anything more. And if you're a Stress-monster like me, this is the place for you.
