Last night I headed to a party to celebrate the grand opening of new salon, The House of Rush, on Piccadilly. Harking back to the glamour of old-school hairdressing the salon oozes extravagance with oversize chandeliers, leather and jewel clad chairs and more mirrors than you could shake a stick at (odd saying, I know).

And this salon isn't just about hair. It boasts the first Bliss treatment room to live outside of a Bliss spa; a room devoted to Rodial treatments and another where you can bed down for an Elemis experience. Plus, it offers Ellipse laser treatments if your skin needs rejuvenating or your hair removing. I had Ellipse laser to remove thread veins and sun damage a while back and it was one of the best treatments I've had (click here to read more). While Essie and Artistic Gloss (a long-lasting manicure) share residency at the nail bar.

Being so central this salon is a perfect pre-party pitstop and with Christmas just around the corner I recommend booking in, on your way out, for a Bliss 15-minute Mini Oxygenator, £20. Oxygen is gently blasted into the pores leaving your complexion dewy and refreshed. Even more genius it can be carried out over your make-up.
