Last weekend marked the occasion of my hen party. And I have to admit, I woke up on Saturday morning feeling a little more than anxious about what the day was to entail. Will they make me wear some humorous outfit? L plates and straws with plastic boy's bits dangling off them? And will I have to answer crimson cheek inducing personal questions during the Mr and Mrs game (as the ELLE prude with a penchant for Victorian nightgowns, this made me come out in a nervous sweat). But most of all I worried about all my friends getting along, getting to know one another.

But my first mystery stop was to visit ELLE's favourite gym and trainers at Bodyism. All of us were greeted by trainers Dalton Wong and Lee Mullins and put into two groups for an invigorating hour long work out. We paired up with other hens (the all important ice-breaker) and worked through a series of exercises as the boys instructed us. Afterwards we all sat around, rosy-cheeked and invigorated as we cooled down and drank their delicious protein shake to keep us energised for the rest of the day. It may not be the traditional start to a hen with jelly shots and butlers in the buff, but I felt great as I left with my healthy hens, limbering up our vocal chords for karaoke.
