Carving out the essence of the 'woman' at any show is no mean feat but at Valentino Pat McGrath and Guido have really got it licked. Moving on seamlessly from last season this time round the woman in question was a vision of romance and artful femininity. While Guido strove for sensuality and softness with delicately dishevelled French halo braids, Pat conjured up faces reminiscent of wood nymphs and resplendent with a kind of shy, Edwardian charm. Skin was radiant and ethereal, with pearl pink highlights kissing cheekbones and eyelids, while lips were flushed with a warm baby pink glow. Brows were the only feature that retained a sense of strength though, brushed up and groomed until they looked handsome and full. The effect when models stood dressed and in the line-up was like poetry in motion.
