Today if you walk past Selfridges it will talk to you. It'll say 'Hello Beautiful' in seven foot high letters, while you glance at window images of A-typical beauties you might need to reconsider before you write them off. The point being, we maybe need to redefine what beautiful really is. According to a government poll 60% of adults feel ashamed of the way they look. 60%! Which suggests there is no 'maybe' about it - we do need to reconsider what is Beauty?

Enter the #BeautyProject - a six week festival of thinking at Selfridges nationwide, which will aim to turn our current thinking on its head. Beauty doesn't have to be young, natural or skinny. Girls don't have to be pink, boys don't have to like your hair long or your heels high, or your perfume pretty. Do they? Well of course they can, but there are lots of other versions of beauty too, and it's going to be fun to explore them; there is shopping involved. And debates, performances, PAs, general happenings. Shopping.

Uncover cult beauty products from around the world including some of our favourites like Egyptian Magic and Miley Cyrus' favourite EOS lipbalm (from that video). It's like a global apothecary

Face Gym

We're going to go and try it, but basically we'll sit under a private umbrella and do a full face work, from warm up to cardio to cool down, all carried out by a trained face gym therapist. Yes, there is one of those in the world.

Grooming Bar

Deposit males in the Pimps & Pinups area (cool beard and barber bar from NYC), and maintain higher levels of enjoyment doing all of the above without restraint. Also they will benefit from this calmer, holistic approach to grooming without feeling awkward. See? Everyone welcome.

Dove Beauty Bar Personalisation

Um. just amazing. And self explanatory.

And why does this work? Because everyone is welcomed and celebrated in all forms. It's a beauty offering dedicated to individuality and it's about time we jumped on board. Check back for our reviews.
