Metallics shimmied and sashayed their way down countless New York catwalks and the trend is making its mark at London Fashion Week too. MAC's new X Cream Shadows (on sale Christmas) were used at almost every show yesterday to add intense shine to cheekbones and temples (according to MAC's Terry Barber highlight for S/S is 'mega metallic')

At nail guru Jenny Longworth was busy sandwiching flecks of silver leaf between a layer of base and top coat. 'It's a way of taking the winter's strong metallic trend and making it more subtle and pretty for spring/summer,' said Jenny.

The last show of the day was where tanning supremo James Read was swathing the girls' skin in Fake Bake's new 'Neon Tan'. However, it's more metallic than neon (thankfully, neon orange tan anyone?). It's a mix of the brand's instant Neon Body Glitter and Neon Glitter Pots. Super subtle and pretty.
