Yesterday saw the opening night of an exhibition in East London dedicated to the wonders of nail art and the talent of some of the industry’s leading technicians. As an avid fan of anything nail-related I of course, went along and suffice to say I wasn’t disappointed. Thoughtfully curated by Ryan Lanji and DegreeArt.com the exhibition is a small but beautifully formed showcase of some frankly incredible works of art, albeit on teeny tiny canvases. Highlights included a back catalogue of the legendary Sue Marsh’s creations (including 3D dolphins jumping mid-air and gothic inspired numbers she made for Boy George) as well as hand painted designs from the The Illustrated Nail and contributions from ELLE favourites Marian Newman, Sophy Robson and Jenny Longworth.

So, if you’re interested in nail art and fancy a visual feast that really pushes the boundaries of art and design, I suggest you hot foot it to Vyner Street...now.
