Those of you who know me will know that I’m pretty low-maintenance when it comes to my hair. A quick blast a some dry shampoo or a texturising paste every once in a while is all I need to keep me and my hair happy. Recently though, having subjected my locks to lots of colour and heat styling it’s looking a bit lacklustre. Thankfully then a meeting with the PR for Redken, one of my all-time favourite ranges, where I was introduced to their newest launch, Nature’s Rescue. The line consists of a clarifying Detox shampoo and conditioner as well as a sea spray that also doubles up as a hair fragrance too but the most ingenious product is this, the Refining Sea Polish.

Billed as an exfoliator for your hair this pumice-based cream is designed to remove impurities and refine the hair’s surface leaving it smoother and shinier and better prepped for future product. I simply applied it to my wet hair after shampooing and worked it through gently, from roots to tips. The pumice mostly dissolves on contact with water so it’s a gentle buffing as opposed to anything harsher. The next day my hair felt lighter and softer and quite literally, polished. A bathroom essential for those days when you feel in need of a deep-clean.
