Finally, after month's of waiting, and waiting, Dr Perricone's new brand Super is coming to the rescue and launching in the UK. It's been a success over in the States since it launched last year, thanks to the brains behind the brand (Perricone is a scientist, nutritionist and New York Times Bestselling author), the eyecatching packaging and a price point that is lower than his existing brand, Perricone MD.

Super is aimed at younger skin that needs preventative products, whereas Perricone MD is for 30+ women whose focus is more on repair and anti-ageing.

Each Super product contains an active from a superfood, thus the name; from Chia (for moisture) and apple (for clairty) to acai (to fight ageing) and watercress (to detox). These super foods (there are too many to list here) contain high concentrations of phytochemicals that turn off the genes that prematurely age us and turn on those that fight against it.

Perricone believes that you need to be healthy inside and out, which is why he encourages healthy eating, as well as topical products high in antioxidants. If you have a glowing complexion, you're more likely to be healthy on the inside and 'beautiful skin is a great motivator', he told us (wise words indeed).

The range of 14 products includes everything from cleansers and moisturisers to serums and treatment products. I have my eye on the Sweet Clean Face & Eye Cleanser (with acai) £25.50, and the First Blush Brightening Serum (with melon) £35.

Super launches in Boots and Selfridges from September.
