I've just come back from a facial with beauty guru Nichola Joss. I'd wanted to try her bespoke treatment for a while, as it works from the inside-out, literally, she massages inside your mouth to reveal facial contours you never even knew you had.
Nichola, who has a degree in Biology, took her knowledge of the human body, along with her good friend's dentistry know-how to create a bespoke massage - undertaken inside the mouth - that gives the muscles around your chin and cheekbones a good workout. It can even reveal that enviable hollow in your cheeks, which negates the need for a contouring bronzer. The hard pressure massage is also used on the outside, kick starting the lymphatic drainage system (to detox the skin of toxins) and relieve tension.
But what of the rest of it? Along with the massage Nichola picks and chooses a cocktail of products from a range of brands she loves - Lancome, Ila, Decleor and The Sanctuary, for a facial tailored to your skin's needs. She swears by the Clarisonic for deep cleansing and, on my blocked skin, uses the Sanctuary's 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask, £10.20, which she raves about; 'I massage it in rather than leaving it, you get better results that way' she tells me.
All the while I'm treated to a hand and foot massage by one of her team, Georgia - a cunning trick as it distracts me from the tenderness experienced during the part of the facial that reminds me of a trip to the dentist!
Nichola ain't gentle, but she sure as heck gets results - my skin is clear, taut and glowing - I will definitely be booking in again.
One visit will see your face toned and taut for about 5-7 days, with regular visits you'll soon have long-lasting, sculpted, facial contours (a godsend for anyone whose muscles have been weakened from too much botox, Nichola tells me).
