In New York, no matter what the time of day (or night) you can find a place to get a blow-out. Over here it's more of a struggle to fit beauty appointments around work and life commitments. Thankfully London salon Neil Cornelius 1st Floor, 109 New Bond Street, will be open for 24-hours every Thursday from July.

Neil Cornelius said, 'We’ve had considerable customer demand for appointments falling outside of traditional opening hours. We’ve always accommodated individual requests, but as more and more people began asking for later appointments, we thought it would make sense to launch a 24-hour service.'

For those who don't know, Neil worked his way up (washing Princess Diana's hair on the way) to become Creative Director at Jo Hansford and now to owning his own salon. He has worked with some big name stars including Keira Knightley, Kate Moss and Elizabeth Jagger.

It's small steps to the 'city never sleeps' attitude of New York. Percy & Reed on Great Portland Street launched a Breakfast Club last year and is open from 8am Tuesday-Friday where you can pre-order breakfast (online at percyandreed.com the night before) and it will be delivered from Villandry across the street so you're ready and raring to go by 9am.

Let's hope other salons follow suit soon.
