Thandie Newton stepped out for the launch of the Louis Vuitton and Sam Taylor-Wood film and photography collaboration, Double Exposure, in London last night and it seems the idea of an event so arty inspired her to get creative with her tresses.

Thandie's hair was pulled into a sleek bun, nothing unusual about that, until you see the picture and realise the hairstylist has placed the bun slightly off-centre and just behind her forehead. I've spied this look before and after checking with our backstage guru, ELLE Beauty Editor Georgia Collins, she told me a similar look was seen on the catwalk at Lanvin's s/s 10 show (there the buns were centred and more dishevelled).

What do you think of this look? Worth a go, or best treated like an art installation - looked at from afar?
