So with all the best intentions in the world my January diet went right out the window thanks to a busy London Fashion Week (where I grabbed a bite where I could). If you feel like your healthy eating has slipped by the way side too, instead of punishing yourself with a Dukan Diet, why not treat yourself to a meal out?

Sounds strange to recommend a restaurant when you're dieting, but Tamarai, a Pan Asian restaurant in London, has a four-course detox menu which is inspired by head chef Manish Mehrotra's travels through Thailand, Singapore and Kuala Lumpar. The starter is a dairy-free coleslaw (Manish uses almond milk instead) that tastes far too yummy to be healthy (but it really is); this is followed by a light tofu and mushroom broth; the tastiest and filling course is the main of poached fish dumpling with quinoa; and last comes a flame roast banana with palm sugar and five spice glaze.

The menu focuses on cleansing and purifying the body while offering a wealth of nutrients; curry leaves flush out fat and toxins, white fungus helps improve skin tone and goji berries assist weight loss and help preserve lean muscle when dieting (the extent of health-giving nutrients in the menu is too long to list). It showed me that with some imagination (and plenty of herbs and spices to hand) you can eat healthy and enjoy it too.
