This week I popped over to the city to see the newest member of the Hersheson family, the Blowdry Bar at One New Change. While I was expecting the usual great layout, slick décor and speedy stylists tending to my hair, I wasn’t prepared for the Hair Wall, a new concept that they’re rolling out in their other salons. Aforementioned Hair Wall is just that, a wall full of hair pieces from ponytails to fringes (called ‘Winges’ in the quirky Hersheson world) and accessories that are all available to buy and wear there and then. As well as such a great range of styles there’s a choice of fibres too, from human hair to synthetic and the boxes they come in are quite beautiful – pale grey miniature hat boxes embellished with the prettiest pink ribbon that beg to be used to store jewellery and trinkets in afterwards.

Born out of Luke Hersheson’s brilliant styling brain (when he travels to shoots and shows he always takes several cases full of these alone) the pieces are the perfect way to update your style instantly and easily. And just to prove it really is that simple, while I was there Luke popped on a Bardot-esque crown piece and within seconds I had hair that oozed sex appeal without the hours of backcombing and cans of hairspray.
