For the fourth year running Clinique are partnering with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity for the KISS IT BETTER appeal to raise money to fund research in to the causes and treatment for childhood cancer.

I attended a breakfast this morning hosted by Edith Bowman who was launching the annual appeal and ex-beauty editor Carmel Allen. They explained (to my shock) that cancer affects 1 in 500 children under the age of 15 and is the biggest killer of children after road accidents. One in eight of those children suffering from cancer will be treated at Great Ormond Street hospital. Allen began the appeal after her own daughter, Josephine, was treated at Great Ormond Street for Neuroblastoma.

This year Clinique have created a Limited Edition Smoothie Kisses Lip Gloss Set, £22.50 (sold exclusively in House of Fraser during the month of February) - £4 from the sale of each set will be donated to the appeal (pictured above). Clinique and House of Fraser will also donate £2 from the sale of every Clinique lipstick or lipgloss sold in store throughout the month.

Illustrator Daisy de Villeneuve has designed a Limited Edition Kiss It Better print, £100 (pictured above). It’s on sale for this month only and all proceeds will go to the appeal.

So there has never been a better time to indulge in a little retail therapy.
