This year I have discovered two products that have been around a while, but are new to me and my skin. They have done such a good job at improving my skin's texture and tone, even my boyfriend complemented my make-up free complexion this weekend!
The first is Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant, £28.50 (at lookfantastic.net), which is loved by Beauty Editors and customers alike and now I'm a fan too. The rice-based powder turns to a cream when mixed with water and contains a cocktail of skin-boosting ingredients including antibacterial salicylic acid to stop spots in their tracks and licorice to brighten. It does a great job at gently, but effectively sloughing away dry skin, preventing spots and brightening the skin (my pigmentation has improved spectacularly in little over a month).
My other new hero product is Vichy's Liftactiv Retinol HA Night Total Wrinkle Plumping Care, £29 (at escentual.com). Anyone serious about preventing the ageing process should be using a retinol-based cream at night. Retinol plumps the skin and encourages cell turnover, while Hyaluronic Acid hydrates. This cream works wonders at turning my 8-hours from simple slumber to true beauty sleep.
