Ive heard of MODELCO before. I know they have a great following in Australia and of course I know all about the iconic tan, Tan in a Can, however up until now theyve taken a softly softly approach when it comes to conquering the UK market. This is set to change with a host of new products arriving this year, a top secret celebrity joining the brand and a move in to Boots stores nationwide in March (its currently solely stocked at Space NK).
Today I met with owner Shelley Barrett who began the brand eight years ago with Lash Wand, a heated eyelash curler. Shelley showed me her new launches One Night Tan, £24, a wash-off instant bronzing mousse and Tan Mousse, £20, which give a natural looking olive tan that lasts a week. My favourite? Shimmer Airbrush Illuminiser, £15, a fine spray mist that gives an instant golden glow thanks to its light reflecting pigments. With a celebrity fan base including Kylie, Elle Macpherson, Britney Spears and Nicole Kidman expect to see a lot more from this brand over the next few months.
