After the class I was feeling a little dejected so asked the fitness instructor whether all the moves were necessary, or would I get as much out of the class if I just stood there and spun my hoop? 'The moves are there because if we stood in here for 30 minutes just spinning a hoop round and round we'd get bored' she said. Phew! 'But, some of the leg exercises do engage muscles and the extra movements burn more calories' she added. Damn, looks like I will have to practise if I want to reach my full hooping potential.
On the plus side, those extra arm and leg movements I managed are definitely doing something. My stomach, arms and legs were aching all day Sunday and Monday thats got to be a good thing.
