If you're looking for a little new year activity to brighten up the grey days may we recommend Dior's Line of Beauty exhibition at Somerset House? Candy-coloured gauze boxes play backdrop to René Gruau's exquisite beauty and fashion illustrations, from covers for cult vintage American magazine Flair to advertisements for Dior's perfumes, nail polish and even their first ever mascara (which we were intrigued to see was devoid of a single visible lash - the heroine simply looks remarkably bright-eyed). We also cooed over the Annie Hall-alike star of the Diorella bath and body line ad, and rose embellished perfume flacons designed by Christian Dior himself.

There's just a few days to go before it closes, so spritz on your Miss Dior Chérie, and hurry along.
