It looks like the North/South divide in Britain extends to our make-up bags. According to a poll by Debenhams, northern women love floral, feminine fragrances (with Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb being the bestseller), while southern girls opt for more masculine fragrances with an edge, some even preferring a man's scent (apparently borrowing from their men on average once a fortnight). I must confess I'm one of them, I regularly spritz on my bf's Jean Paul Gaultier Fleur du Male. Also, when it comes to perfume northern women are more loyal buying one large bottle of their favourite scent, while southern women will choose several small bottles instead.

Oh and if you think men are as complicated in the fragrance-buying stakes as us women, think again; whether north or south Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million, Chanel’s Bleu de Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male are the consistent bestsellers (a good tip if your stuck for a last-minute Christmas present).
