Party Perfection

By Amy Lawrenson

I have long been a fan of MyFace cosmetics and recently met Kabuki, the brand's new Creative Director and Kylie Minogue's make-up artist. He's charming and was full of great party make-up advice. Here are his top tips...

Think about using a powder blusher on your eyes to get the look Kabuki worked on at the Zac Posen SS11 show (pictured); it may be a bit early but the look is perfect for festive parties now. Use the blusher as you would an eyeshadow; take a strong pink shade and paint over lids then layer over a paler, shimmering eyeshadow to soften the look.

If your lashes are looking clumpy and need refreshing use a small hairpin to separate out the hairs.

For wet-look eyes try MyFace Bling Tones, rather than gloss. Gloss is great for shoots but is too slippery and won’t stay put in everyday life. Bling Tones are made from crushed pearls and give the eyes an iridescent sheen. Kylie Minogue loves the Bling Tone in Morococo, £9.99.

When you're wearing a statement lipstick get a perfect lip line by loading a lip brush with your foundation and trace just outside your natural lip line. Then line your lips just inside your lip line with a pencil before applying your chosen lipstick with a brush.

If you want to bling up your look for Christmas apply small gems around your eyes. Think of your make-up as a great piece of jewellery, it's the perfect accessory to an LBD.
